CELEBRATING SERVICE DELIVERY IMPROVEMENTS AND ADDRESSING LOCAL CHALLENGES, TAKE LEAD AT DISTRICT BARAZA
Rwampara District residents asked to emovernment programs
Rwampara District residents have been asked to embrace the govrnment programs like Parish Development Model(PDM),utilize the recently established Africa Coffee Park in Ntungamo, as well as the industrial hub in Mbarara among others.
The appeal was made by Gonzaga Mayanja,OPM commiseeioner for monitoring and evaluation,sponsible for local governments during the community engagement(Baraza) held at the district headquaters in Kinoni Town Council.
Mayanja informed the stakeholders that the purpose of Baraza is to align the district priorities with the NRM manifesto and NDP IV. He also appreciated the district leadership for greatly improving their performance from the 112th position to the 67th position. He mentioned the importance of resolving land issues that delay government projects such as Ndeija HC III.
Giving her remarks, Harriet Nakamya,the RDC, appreciated the minister and the stakeholders for attending the Baraza.
The district CAO,Willy Bataringaya,informed the minister that the district received 27 billion during FY 2024/2025,where 17billion was for salaries and 10 billion for service delivery .He further informed the stakeholders about the significant improvement from 94% to 97%.He noted that the district still faces significant challenges such as understaffing,especially in the health sector.He also appreciated the Members of Parliament for always lobbying for the district and the media for publicizing the information .
Womugasho Richard, the District chairman, appreciated the minister for considering Rwampara for the Baraza and also appreciated the coordination between the political and technical teams towards improving service delivery.
The Ag.DHO- Sinya John Micheal, informed the stakeholders that the district has two HCIVs, five HCIIIs, thirteen HCIIs and two private profit facilities.The department faces challenges like critical staff shortages and a limited wage bill. During the open discussions , Micheal Nuwamanya from Kinoni Town Council appealed to the authorities to have electricity extended to their areas.
